For chocolate chip scones, mini chips are preferred. Their smaller size ensures more even chocolate distribution, but chopped regular chips work too. The recipe and air frying tips are included on this page.

  1. 01Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. 02Cut in cold butter until pea-sized crumbs.
  3. 03Whisk cream, egg, and vanilla separately. Pour into dry. Stir until just combined.
  4. 04Fold in chocolate chips. Handle quickly so your hands don't melt them.
  5. 05Pat into a 3/4-inch circle, cut into 6 wedges. Brush with cream.
  6. 06Ready for the air fryer.
Mini chocolate chips distribute more evenly than standard-sized ones. If you only have regular chips, give them a rough chop so you get chocolate in every bite rather than large pockets of melted chocolate with blank patches between them.
