Steps
01Soak breadcrumbs in milk for 2 minutes.
02Combine with all remaining ingredients except the extra BBQ sauce. Mix until just combined.
03Divide into 6 loaves.
04Brush tops generously with BBQ sauce.
05Ready for the air fryer. Brush with another layer of BBQ sauce in the last 3 minutes of cooking for a sticky glaze.
The double-glaze technique (before and during cooking) builds layers of sticky, caramelized BBQ flavor. The first coat sets and slightly chars. The second coat stays glossy and saucy. Use a thicker BBQ sauce, not a thin vinegar-based one, or it runs off.
01Prepare 1 lb ground beef, 1 egg, 1/3 cup breadcrumbs, 2 tablespoons ketchup, 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, and salt and pepper and form it into equal-sized mini loaves (about 4 to 5 ounces each).
02Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
03Place the mini loaves into the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving a little space between each.
04Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 10 minutes to brown the outside and set the shape.
05Brush the tops of the loaves generously with ketchup or BBQ sauce.
06Cook for an additional 5 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
Lightly spray the basket or tray before cooking.
